Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about replacing your AC or water heater — straight answers, no jargon.

Pricing & Cost

We purchase equipment directly from manufacturers at wholesale pricing and coordinate licensed independent contractors for installation at flat rates. By cutting out the middleman markup that traditional companies charge, we pass the savings directly to you.
No. Our pricing is fully transparent — you see the total cost upfront, including equipment and installation. There are no trip charges, diagnostic fees, or surprise add-ons. The price we quote is the price you pay.
We are currently working on adding financing options including monthly payment plans. This feature is coming soon. In the meantime, we accept all major credit cards and can work with you on payment timing.
In most cases, yes. If you have a written quote from another company, send it to us and we'll do our best to beat it. Our direct-from-manufacturer model means we can often come in significantly lower than traditional dealers.

Buying Process

It's simple: (1) Purchase directly on our website if you know what you need — use our Dataplate Scanner if you're not sure what system you have, (2) if you'd rather have help, schedule a free site visit where a sales rep will recommend the right system and you can pay on the spot, and (3) your new unit is professionally installed — often within 72 hours.
Most installations are completed within 72 hours of product availability. The installation itself typically takes a single day. Emergency replacements may be available even faster — contact us to discuss your timeline.
No problem! Use our free Dataplate Scanner tool — just take a photo of the metal label on your AC unit or water heater and our AI will instantly identify your system type, specs, and brand. Or simply contact us and we'll help you figure it out.
A licensed contractor visits your home (at no cost) to verify the system type, tonnage, and any special installation requirements like crane access or tight spaces. This ensures the equipment we quoted is correct and the installation goes smoothly.
We currently serve the Phoenix and Tucson metropolitan areas in Arizona. We're expanding to Atlanta (Georgia), Tampa/Orlando/Jacksonville (Florida), and Charlotte/Raleigh (North Carolina). Enter your zip code on our website to check availability.

System Selection

A split system has two components: an outdoor condenser and an indoor air handler connected by refrigerant lines. A package unit combines everything into one outdoor cabinet. Package units are common in Arizona (often on rooftops), while split systems are more common in the Southeast.
AC units are sized in tons (1 ton = 12,000 BTU). As a general guide: 1.5 tons for 600–750 sq ft, 2.0 tons for 800–1,000 sq ft, 3.0 tons for 1,200–1,500 sq ft, and 5.0 tons for 2,000–2,500 sq ft. Your existing unit's dataplate or model number contains a BTU code that tells us the exact size.
SEER (Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio) measures how efficiently an AC unit cools. Higher SEER = lower energy bills. The minimum standard is now 15 SEER2 for split systems in the Southeast. We carry units ranging from 14 to 22+ SEER depending on the brand.
A heat pump can both cool and heat your home using electricity — no gas furnace needed. They're increasingly popular and efficient, especially in moderate climates. If you currently have a gas furnace, a traditional AC paired with your existing furnace may be the simpler option.
Most new units use R-410A, though the industry is transitioning to R-454B and R-32 (lower environmental impact). If your current unit uses R-22 (Freon), it's been phased out and your unit must be replaced — it cannot be recharged.

Water Heaters

We carry Rheem water heaters in both gas and electric models. Rheem is one of the most trusted names in water heating, with over 100 years of experience. We offer tank water heaters in 30, 40, 50, and 80-gallon capacities.
It depends on your home's existing setup and preferences. Gas water heaters typically have faster recovery rates (they reheat water more quickly) and may cost less to operate, but require a gas line and venting. Electric water heaters are simpler to install, require less maintenance, and tend to have higher energy factor ratings. In most cases, replacing with the same fuel type as your current unit is the simplest option.
Water heater size depends on your household's hot water demand. As a general guide: 30 gallons for 1–2 people, 40 gallons for 2–3 people, 50 gallons for 3–4 people, and 80 gallons for 5+ people or homes with high hot water usage. Check your current unit's dataplate for the rated storage volume — a like-for-like replacement is usually the right choice.
A standard water heater replacement is typically completed in 2–4 hours. If your new unit is the same fuel type and similar size as the old one, installation is straightforward. Like our HVAC installations, we coordinate licensed plumbing contractors for all water heater work.
Our Rheem water heater replacements are all-inclusive — equipment plus licensed plumber install, direct from us. Electric like-for-like swaps start around $1,467 for a 30-gallon and go up to about $2,111 for an 80-gallon. Gas installs run a bit higher because of the venting and gas-line work: roughly $1,967 for a 30-gallon up to $2,550 for an 80-gallon. Replacing the same fuel type and size keeps costs straightforward; fuel conversions or upsizes may add to the total.
Not at this time. We currently carry Rheem tank water heaters in 30, 40, 50, and 80-gallon capacities in both gas and electric. Tankless models may be added in the future. If you're specifically looking for tankless, contact us and we can discuss your options.

Warranty & Guarantees

Every unit includes the full manufacturer warranty. For HVAC systems, that's typically 10 years on parts and 10 years on the compressor. For Rheem water heaters, it's 6 years on the tank and parts. Your installing contractor also provides a 1-year labor warranty and 2-year workmanship warranty.
Yes. You must register your new equipment with the manufacturer within 60 days of installation to activate the full warranty. We'll provide you with direct links and instructions for your specific brand.
Yes, identical. We are authorized to sell all the brands we carry. The manufacturer warranty is tied to the equipment, not the seller. You get the exact same warranty coverage — whether that's 10-year parts and compressor for HVAC or 6-year tank and parts for water heaters.

Contractors & Installation

All installations are performed by licensed, bonded, and insured contractors in your state. In Arizona, our contractors hold ROC licenses for residential HVAC and plumbing. We vet every contractor for licensing, insurance, and quality of work.
Permit requirements vary by city and county. In most Arizona jurisdictions, a like-for-like replacement does not require a permit. If your installation does require one, your contractor will handle the permit process.
Yes. Your installation includes removal and proper disposal of the old equipment. The contractor will also clean up the work area and ensure everything is running correctly before they leave.
